4ProceduralNEW BUSINESS A. 209 Bassett Street - The applicant nominates a ± 75-foot tall Deodar Cedar tree, estimated a minimum of 85 years old, located at 209 Bassett Street, for a Landmark Tree designation consistent with Municipal Code Chapter 8.28, and at the discretion of the Historic & Cultural Preservation Committee (HCPC). Staff: Isabel Castellano, Preservation Specialist Address: 209 Bassett Street Project #: PLTR-2022-0015 The Landmark Tree designation is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 for Class 1 - Existing Facilities, Section 15304 for Class 4 - Minor Alterations to Land, Section 15307 (Class 7 - Protection of Natural Resources), and Section 15308 (Class 8 - Protection of the Environment).
5ProceduralSTUDY SESSION A. Hotel Weaver - Informational presentation to provide initial feedback on a Historic Site Plan and Architectural Review application for a hotel development proposed at 2 Petaluma Boulevard South, within the Historic Commercial District. New construction of the hotel is designed as a 6-story, 70-foot-tall building over a below-grade, 58- space parking garage, with a total building area of approximately 68,200 square feet. The project includes a Zoning Text Amendment to Mixed Use classifications within a Historic Commercial District overlay to increase the allowable floor area ratio and height set forth in the Mixed Use classification by the 2008 City of Petaluma General Plan. 9ProceduralADJOURN The next meeting of the Historic and Cultural Preservation Committee is scheduled for Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 4:00 PM. Appeal Statement: Within fourteen (14) days following the date of a decision of the Historic and Cultural Preservation Committee, the decision may be appealed to the City Council by the applicant or by any other interested party. If no appeal is made within that time, the decision shall be final. An appeal shall be addressed to the Council in writing and shall be filed with the City Clerk. Said appeal shall be accompanied by the appeal fee as specified by Resolution 2010-206- N.C.S. as adopted by the City Council. The appeal shall state specifically the grounds for the appeal and the relief sought by the appellant. (Zoning Ordinance §24.070) Legal Recourse Statement: Persons commenting orally or in writing are advised to raise all pertinent issues at this state of review so that possible solutions may be implemented or adopted at the earliest opportunity. If you challenge the action taken by the City of Petaluma in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised during the public review process, or in written correspondence delivered to the City at or prior to the conclusion of the public review process. (Cal. Gov’t.
