Approval of Minutes — May 9, 2024

The committee reviewed and approved the minutes from its May 9, 2024 meeting. For context, those May minutes reflect a session that included a well-received presentation on the City of Petaluma's General Policy Framework for Health, Equity, and Environmental Justice (HEEJ), delivered by Ron Whitmore and Christina Paul. Committee members raised numerous questions and shared ideas for the framework during that session. Following the presentation, members Don Forman, Cheryl Jern, and Chair Nickola Frye submitted written comments on the HEEJ framework directly to the presenters; member Patricia Souza submitted her comments later.

The May meeting also included updates on changes to a report on Senior Center needs, a Chair's report noting that Iya Josephmenard and Nickola Frye were planning a booth at the Cool Petaluma Expo, and an ad hoc committee update on senior and active adult playground infrastructure. Staff noted that activities at the Petaluma Senior Center are expanding, with new classes and events highlighted in the upcoming June newsletter.

At the June 13 meeting, no public comment was received. The minutes were approved unanimously.
