CITY OF PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA REGULAR MEETING OF THE CLIMATE ACTION COMMISSION City Hall Council Chamber 11 English Street Petaluma, CA 94952 FINAL MINUTES Thursday, February 13, 2025 CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL Present: Atchley, Garti, Edminster, Ellecamp, Peters, Shribbs Late: Baker, Krishna Absent: Thors GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT During General Public Comment, the public is invited to make comments on items of public interest that are within the City Council’s subject matter jurisdiction and that are not listed on the current agenda. Public comments are limited up to three minutes per person. Depending on the number of persons wishing to address the Council, time will be allocated in equal shares totaling no more than twenty minutes, subject to the Council’s discretion (Cal. Gov’t. Code §54954.3(a), Petaluma City Council Rules, Policies and Procedures, III). Subcommittee Meetings, Breakout Discussions, and Reporting Chair Atchley called for recess at 7:00 PM for Ad Hoc subcommittees and members of the public to have breakout discussions Chair Atchley reconvened the meeting at 7:45 PM Chair Atchley presented for Resource Consumption, and Waste Reduction Ad Hoc • Discussed progress on creating a waste ordinance to present to City Council Commissioner Edminster presented for Buildings and Clean Energy Ad Hoc • Discussed goals such as the adoption of green energy in Petaluma and a phase out of gas-powered landscaping equipment Commissioner Baker presented for Transportation, the Built Environment, Natural Systems, Sequestration & Adaptation Ad Hoc • Provided updates of the Ad Hoc’s discussion to research more into active transportation and green streets COMMISSION COMMENT Councilmember Shribbs Commissioner Garti Commissioner Edminster STAFF COMMENT Patrick Carter presented updates, including on the City Council’s budget discussion and the solar array project at Ellis Creek ADJOURNMENT Chair Atchley adjourned the meeting at 8:17PM
